Less than 1km from the village of Dullstroom, Hacker's Haven provides easy and exciting put and take fishing for all levels and ages of angler and is ideal for kids and beginners. Fishing is on two picturesque dams. Hire equipment, flies and tuition available for beginners. R100/day and R100/kg. No bag limits. Fishery open from 7am - 5pm, come to the Mavungana Flyfishing Centre for a permit.

Bird of Prey Centre Lake

A prominent medium sized Stillwater ( about 3 Ha ) visible form the road just before you enter the village of Dullstroom, from the Johannesburg side, on the right hand side. Browns and rainbows, catch and release only. R200.00 a day, bookings and day tickets at the Mavungana Flyfishing Centre

The Crocodile River on the beautiful farm Onvervallei

The Crocodile River - Onvervallei

Situated 6km from Dullstroom on the beautiful farm Onvervallei, Mavungana owns 2km of the upper Crocodile River. Fishing is entirely Catch and Release for small wild river fish. An ideal way to fish this stretch would be two anglers leapfrogging each pool or to take it in turns to share a rod and spot fish.
Fishing extremely technical. High-clearance vehicles only.
Booking is essential.
R200.00 for a half-day ticket or R350 for the full day.

Lake Placid

5 minutes drive from the village is the most beautiful Stillwater imaginable. 2 Ha in size and fed by a strong stream this lake is surrounded by Pine trees and reeds right down onto the shore. This not only makes for the most atmospheric setting but exceptionally challenging fishing. The lake is hardly ever fished and only very capable angers are allowed on the water. Waders, bush bashing and a sense of humour are all requirements and a shot at fish over 5 pounds GAURANTEED. Anglers must be accompanied by a Mavungana Guide

Self drive:
Meet at the Mavungana Flyfishing centre to collect your guide, includes rod fees and guide for the day (morning and afternoon session with a break for lunch) Does not include lunch, alcoholic beverages and gratuities.
Full day - R1800 - 2 rods sharing
Half day - R1350 - 2 rods sharing
Full day - R1900 - 1 rod
Half day - R950 - 1 rod

Laverpa

7 km outside of Dullstroom on the left hand side on the way to Lydenburg. 3 well- stocked, entirely CAR dams.
R150 per rod. Booking at the Centre is essential.

The Mavungana Flyfishing Syndicate

Limited to 12 anglers each year, the above waters are available to the Mavungana Syndicate member. Each fishery undergoes intensive management and stocking to bring the venue up to the high standard of all Mavungana associated fisheries. The idea is to offer the members unlimited fishing on a selection of superb waters in and around the Village. Accommodation is not included as this keeps fees down and does not tie the angler to pre-determined weekends chosen at the beginning of each year. The syndicate caters for dedicated anglers who regularly visit Dullstroom. Accommodation of any type can be arranged at the drop of a hat through Mavungana. Application on inquiry.
