Private trout waters

Come up for a midweek break and we will put you on some waters you never had any idea existed in Dullstroom. We will help you with some reasonable Bed and Breakfast accommodation then collect you for a morning and afternoon session on some of the most private and exclusive waters around.

Upstream river fishing for perfectly proportioned wild browns and trophy sized rainbows on mouth-wateringly clear lakes, rates are inclusive of transport in a four wheel drive vehicle, lunch refreshments and guide fees. Meet at the Mavungana Flyfishing centre to collect your guide, includes rod fees and guide for the day (morning and afternoon session with a break for lunch) Does not include lunch, alcoholic beverages and gratuities.
Full day - R1800 - 2 rods sharing

Lunker’s Lair

Not far from Dullstroom you will have to sign a non disclosure act to get to fish on this property. Needless to say the owners stipulate fully accompanied, guided access only. Several km of Lunsklip River with wild rainbows and brownies and a breathtaking waterfall pool. Three medium sized ( 2-3 HA each )old established spring fed dams, double digit fish aplenty, hooking and staying attached to them a different story!

Lake Placid

5 minutes drive from the village is the most beautiful Stillwater imaginable. 2 Ha in size and fed by a strong stream this lake is surrounded by Pine trees and reeds right down onto the shore. This not only makes for the most atmospheric setting but exceptionally challenging fishing. The lake is hardly ever fished and only very capable angers are allowed on the water. Waders, bush bashing and a sense of humour are all requirements and a shot at fish over 5 pounds GAURANTEED. Anglers must be accompanied by a Mavungana Guide

Nooitgedacht Trout Lodge

Flyfish for brown and rainbow trout on Nooitgedacht’s two large stillwaters (approximately 10ha and 3ha). Nooitgedacht Lodge is situated in the panoramic Mount Anderson Reserve, close to Lydenburg, (About 60km from Dullstroom).

Roodekrans

Approximately 15km from Dullstroom, Roodekrans is situated between two hills and boasts a well kept 8km stretch of the Crocodile River as well as four stillwaters, well stocked with browns and rainbows.

Santa

The Santa waters cover approximately six kilometres of the River Lunsklip (both banks) with numerous weirs and thirteen dams. Only 10km from Dullstroom.
