The Gurgler was originally designed for saltwater by Jack Gartside and has become an effective freshwater pattern, especially for Bass.The name comes from the sound it makes from its top lip the gurgling sound, which creates a commotion to attract fish. The Gurgler has evolved over the years and has been a top producer of a variety of species.
Fish it on a floating line with a long leader, use varying retrieves to imitate something struggling on the surface. Hard pulls will create more disturbance and noise while erratic strips will have less disturbance but imitate a baitfish injured on the surface.
Use the orange during the spawning season when the fish are aggressive protecting their nests.
