Designed and tied to target Bonefish in the Bahamas, the Gotcha was developed by Jim McVay to imitate the shrimp and crabs that the Bonefish were after. The patterns was originally tied using carpet clippings from a taxi, fast forward 50 years and the Gotcha is still used today for Bones all over the world, including the Seychelles.
We would recommend having this pattern with dumbbell eyes as well as bead chain eyes to vary the sink rate and make sure you can opt for a lighter pattern when targeting spooky, shallow water Bones.
