Much like the Swimming Crab, this pattern covers the same basis and gets similar results. It is an old school pattern worth having in your saltwater fly box, you never know when the fish will be looking for something a little more different than an Alphlexo.
Designed to be fished on the bottom like most crustacean patterns, if you were fishing the flats we would recommend fishing this fly on a floating line, vary your leader length based on how skittish your target species is, and retrieve with long slow draws.
