We will not go into how this fly's name originated, if you ever bump into Arno Laubscher you can ask him. It is quite an amusing story.
This fly has been a top producer of fish over the years. It has a great action and gets down into the zone quickly, zonker tail for movement, lead eyes and a skinny profile to get it down quickly and normally a gold body. Largemouth yellows have a definite attraction to gold.
With the dumbbell eyes placed on the top of the hook shank this fly rides hook bend up, resulting in few snags.
Black works well in low light conditions.
