This foam head caddis pattern gives you the best of both worlds. Granted, it comes into its own when caddis are on the menu, but it also doubles as a rudimentary tussock cicada, or grasshopper pattern too. Yes…one hundred percent, it works fished static. However, the foam head allows you to impart sharp tugs on the line to momentarily drown the fly, only for it to pop (bounce) back up to the surface…a deadly tactic on many rivers, or stillwater, particularly where flows quicken!
