Designed to be fished on the bottom like most crustacean patterns, if you were fishing the flats we would recommend fishing this fly on a floating line, vary your leader length based on how skittish your target species is, and retrieve with long slow draws. You can fish this pattern in local South African lagoons and estuaries too, juts make sure your fly gets down to the bottom.
